What is TWYST?
TWYST is a cryptocurrency based on the global remaing carbon credits.
Why do you even care?
We created TWYST because we want to change how products and services are monetized. We believe that past generations didn't include the customer "planet" in the price, so from no on, he is our number one priority! With TWYST, prices are fair and transparent because they are mainly based on their CO2e footprint.
Why do you plant trees?
According to scientists, we lose 42 million trees every day. That's nearly 15 billion trees per year. Because trees can capture a lot of CO2, we want to restore the balance and give the world some trees back.
Do you plant trees on your own?
No, we have a couples of partners. They are experts in planting trees and protecting the environment. That's why they are in charge and not us.
Where do you plant trees?
It depends on our partners. But we can plant trees in the global south, in Europe and in Germany.
Do you invest in other projects than planting trees?
Yes, 1 % of purchases with TWYST are invested in global SDG projects. If you want to offer your SDG project, write us using hello@twyst.app
What’s the difference between TWYST.Points and TWYST.Token?
The points are rewards for climate-friendly purchases. You can redeem these points by planting trees. The token shall be an accepted payment option in the future. To make this happen as quickly as possible we need many many many TWYST users like you to collect TWYST points and bring the idea to the masses.
How do I get TWYST.Points?
Go to your local supermarket and look for products supported by TWYST. You get one point per product. You may get more points for particularly climate-friendly products.
What good are my TWYST.Points?
Redeem them for trees. Use them to get climate-friendly products at a discount. Sell them. Save them. Show them off on Instagram. Compete with your friends to see who has more - do what you want with them, but get lots of them.
Why are TWYST.Points and later the TWYST.Token good for the climate?
TWYST.Token wants to promote climate-friendly consumption by enabling you as a consumer to actively use CO2 footprints as a means of exchange and payment. The deal would be as follows: by buying climate-friendly products with TWYST.Tokens, you protect the environment and do something for your wallet, or rather your CO2 wallet. With TWYST.Points, we want to take the first steps towards this vision - your climate-friendly consumption will be rewarded with points.
When will the TWYST.Token be available?
We are currently working on the top transition scenario from TWYST.Points to TWYSt.Token. As soon as there are updates, we will let you know.
Is TWYST.Token simply a new standard credit card?
TWYST will be a fully digital payment solution. We focus on mobile and web purchases, but also support a hardware wallet in the shape of a credit card to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Is TWYST free of charge?
Yes. However B2x sellers using our payment services have to pay some minor fees.
How can I invest?
For private persons, we offer an NFT sale starting at 9,50 EUR. The NFT sale is the earliest and easiest way to support us. Investors and Business Angels are welcome too, just mail us using hello@twyst.app.

What does a carbon footprint of products mean?
Of course, this is not meant literally. Footprint here means the CO2 emissions that occur during production, processing, transport - in fact, everything in the value chain. This is currently not taken into account in the pricing of products.
How accurate are your calculations of co2 footprints, or at what point does a product become climate-friendly in the sense of TWYST.Points?
Footprint calculations can be done much better by our partners than by us - that's why we don't do it ourselves. Where available, we use an exact Footprint - where not available, we make do with standard and average values. We are convinced that many more carbon footprints will be seen on products in the future. The effects that more climate-friendly products should be bought and that tey should be cheaper than climate-damaging products remain our main focus.
Who is BlackFourier GmbH
We are the minds behind TWYST. We chose a german regulated company to offer our B2x payment services. However, TWYST will be governed by a DAO and we hand it over as soon as possible.
Why did you choose the name BlackFourier?
Joseph Black, a Scottish physicist and chemist, discovered CO2. Jean-Baptise Fourier, a French mathematician, discoverd the greenhose effect. Both are crucial to the climate change. That's why we wanted to tribute their work and named us according to their names. That's also why we pronounce Black like an english speeking and Fourier like an French speaking person.
